Save & Load

Save Set / Load Set

The Save Set and Load Set buttons in the header save and restore complete session files:

  • Save Set — opens a file dialog to save a .tabbal file containing all 64 pattern slots, all row configurations, pattern names, active/playing pattern indices, layer states, and MIDI output device selection
  • Load Set — opens a file dialog to load a .tabbal file; the entire plugin state is restored, including which pattern was playing and which layers were active

These files are human-readable XML and can be shared between machines. User clip .mid files referenced by the set must be present on the target machine.

Reset

The Reset button in the status bar restores the plugin to factory defaults: all 64 patterns are cleared, rows are reset to their default state (4 rows, starting from C2), and the MIDI output reverts to “DAW: Tabbal”. User clips on disk are not deleted.

DAW Project State

When hosted in a DAW, Tabbal’s full state is saved and restored automatically as part of the DAW project file. This includes everything in a .tabbal file — you don’t need to manually save and load sets when working within a single DAW project.
